Alexander Smith (Alkex Instruments) has released Mode Machines Xoxbox – a software emulation of the popular hardware clone of Roland’s TB-303. It features everything that you’d expect from a 303 clone including a single oscillator (with both saw and square waveforms available) and a low-pass filter with controls for cutoff frequency, resonance, and envelope modulation, and an envelope generator with a single control over decay. There is also an Accent control that determines the amplitude of the notes where Accent is applied as well as emphasizing the cutoff and resonance resulting in variations in timbre.
Note data, Accents and Slides (portamento) are programmed step-by-step into the classic TB-style 16-step sequencer using the 1-octave keyboard, with each step transposable up and down, to produce those classic ‘acid’ baselines!
Mode Machines Xoxbox is available in the App Store now and is free!
Requirements: Requires iOS 6.1 or later.
